Specialties and Services

No matter your age or background, you can heal from your past.
There is hope for the future.

  • Anxiety

Anxiety is a natural response to stress, pressure, or when you feel threatened. It could also signal something more significant such as generalized anxiety disorder depending on the level of anxiety and how often it occurs. Anxiety could affect daily living when symptoms are not addressed. However, since anxiety symptoms affect people differently, it is important to learn how to recognize them and when they may require professional help.

  • Depression

When a lot is weighing on your mind, you might fall asleep feeling sad and wake up in the morning and still feel sad. If this happens to you nearly every day over a long period, you might be dealing with something more than ordinary sadness; you could have clinical depression. Depression is a mood disorder that effects millions of people around the world. Fortunately, depression has been studied for decades and there is a wealth of information available for people who have depressive symptoms. Many treatments for depression are highly effective and can provide relief in just a few weeks.

  • Grief

Grief is a natural, yet painful response to loss. Grief can be any loss a person deems significant. This can include the perceived loss of your health, the loss of a long-term relationship, the loss of a career you had been working for, or finding out that an important goal will not be possible. Each person has a different response to grief. While there are healthy ways to cope with grief, a problem arises when it impairs and and interferes with functions of our everyday life. There are healthy ways to cope with the pain and express your emotions in ways that allow you to heal.

  • Relationships

A healthy relationship takes two committed people. Relationships bring meaning to life. Difficulty comes with the territory of any relationship - even a healthy one. But conflict can be healthy as long as it is resolved in a healthy way. Whether you are in a new relationship, a newlywed, or going through a breakup or divorce, counseling is a great way to move in a positive direction while learning more about just yourself or both you and your partner.

  • Self-esteem

When your self-esteem is low, you feel unworthy and unlovable. Positive self-esteem means you love yourself for who you are. Your actions, too, speak for how much you value yourself. Often, when people consider thinking well of themselves, they worry that they'll become self-absorbed and self-involved and that they'll care less for other people. Nothing could be further from the truth. You can't give others your best if you don't recognize that you're a worthwhile person capable of doing positive things.

  • Trauma

Trauma reactions can come out of everyday occurrences during which people experience that loss of control or danger, such as abusive situations. This is called complex trauma. Trauma comes in many forms - from childhood bedwetting to emotional abuse to war. Unresolved trauma affects how we cope with future stressors and impacts the way that we come to think, feel, and believe about ourselves and the world - much of the time without us realizing how we are trying to cope. Most of our responses to stress have been ingrained since childhood yet they define our adulthood. But healing from trauma is possible.

Hayley specializes in clients 18, Cory sees clients 15 and up, and Karcie’s focus is young adults.
